I emailed the EPA!
Here’s what you need to do before the deadline:
Email airaction@epa.gov
In the subject line say “Presidential Exemption: [Name of Regulation]: [Facility(ies) Name]” We suggest using “Mercury Pollution Standard] and “all of them” to fill in the blanks.
Below we have a short email you can copy and add
SL: Presidential Exemption: Mercury and Air Toxics Standard: All Facilities
Dear Administrator Zeldin,
Clean air. Clean Water. Safe food. A healthy climate.
These are things we count on the Environmental Protection Agency to protect. But right now, you’re selling out the EPA to big polluters.
The EPA sets and enforces standards to limit toxic and harmful pollution like mercury, soot, lead, and ‘forever chemicals’ from getting into our air and water. The EPA also works to clean up toxic pollution in the communities most impacted. Awarding exemptions to these life-saving standards polluters will harm children, seniors, and everyone else by exposing people to more dangerous and deadly pollution. Protect the EPA, and don’t give polluters the green light to wreck our health and climate.
