Ideas Conference: The Road Ahead for Supreme Court Reform

On September 28th in Washington, D.C., Demand Justice will convene this year's Ideas Conference: The Road Ahead for Supreme Court Reform to discuss the path forward for the Court expansion movement.

We will be joined by Martin Luther King III, in conversation with CNN correspondent Bakari Sellers to discuss what must be done to address the Supreme Court's ongoing threat to our democracy and voting rights.

We are also hosting two former members of President Biden's Supreme Court commission, Caroline Fredrickson and Kermit Roosevelt, who both called for Court expansion after their service on the commission. This discussion will be joined by Brandon Hasbrouck from Washington and Lee University School of Law and moderated by Slate's Mark Joseph Stern.

We will also hear from advocates and strategists - including Karen Finney, Maya Rupert and Alencia Johnson - on the urgency of reform post-Dobbs.

This event coincides with the two-year anniversary of the week Donald Trump cemented the 6-3 Republican supermajority by nominating Amy Coney Barrett to the Court. It will also take place just days before the Court kicks off its new term, as the public's confidence in this institution falls to historic lows.

Please note that lunch will be provided at this event, and seating is limited. This invitation is non-transferable.
