I'm interested in going all in with Sunrise! (in 2019 OR 2020)

Sunrise could not have made the Green New Deal the talk of the town in 2019 without the help of our Sunrise Fellows, who live together in movement houses in Philadelphia and DC and give their passion, time, and skills to the movement. This summer, we’ll be expanding our operation through a fellowship program based in the states most politically significant for winning a Green New Deal. Fellows will take on a range of projects -- from being part of our traveling training team and putting on leadership trainings all across the country; to helping ramp up our artistic production; to helping the whole movement prepare to take action this summer when we #ChangeTheDebate. We’ll also have fellowship options for people who want to go all-in with us, but don’t want to live in a movement house.

Sign up here to let us know you’re interested. We’ll be putting up a full application by mid-March and you’ll be the first to know when we begin accepting applicants. The application will include a more detailed timeline on the interview and admissions process.

Sunrise is building towards a massive youth intervention in the 2020 elections we’re calling Sunrise Semester — and we want you to be a part of it. For the 2018 midterm elections, our Sunrise Semester program involved 70 young people take an eight-month break from their ordinary lives to defend life itself by serving as full-time volunteer organizers from June through the election in November. We need you for the 2020 election cycle.

After a one-week bootcamp at the beginning of Summer 2020, you will fan out to one of five politically significant states, where you’ll coordinate the efforts of thousands of our existing members and help bring in new recruits to the youth army.

You’ll work from the following mandate: build public support for a Green New Deal and creatively expose the corrupting role of Big Oil on our elections, and endorse and campaign for candidates with a conscience and a spine, from the local to the statewide and federal levels.

If you’ve ever thought of dropping it all — taking a gap year, taking a semester off from college, quitting your job — this is the moment.

Specifics are developing, but likely there will be 3 terms of the program: January - May, June - August, and September - November. You're welcome to apply to any term, or participate in multiple.

Our country is living through a dark hour. It’s up to us to make the sun rise. If you are ready to make this commitment, the movement will support you. You will receive a cost-of-living stipend to cover basic expense so that Sunrise Semester is accessible to young Americans of all walks of life ready to make a difference in this time of need. You will have the option of living with other participants in the program.

Sign up here to let us know you’re interested. You’ll be the first to know when there’s a full application ready to go out for our 2020 fellowships.
