1. PUBLIC HEALTH - Going beyond partisanship to champion and educate the public about the best healthcare options for Utahns and their families and for the economy of the state, including the Utah Decides Healthcare ballot initiative to expand Medicaid, solutions to causation and treatment of addiction and suicide prevention.

2. FAMILIES & COMMUNITIES - Advocating for good policies that bolster our public education system, combat poverty and homelessness, grow affordable housing, help women and families to prosper and promote ethical treatment of immigrants and refugees.

3. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP - Advancing solutions to promote cleaner air and water, good stewardship of our public lands and the businesses and communities that rely on them, cost efficiency and economic opportunities for our counties and state, energy policies that promote a strong future energy market in Utah and improved medical outcomes for our communities.

4. GOVERNMENT - Supporting the Balanced Boundaries ballot initiative to create an independent redistricting commission in Utah, advocating around gerrymandering issues nationwide (including in our own San Juan County), supporting good voting policy and advocating for bipartisan solutions, accountability and ethics in government.

What do our Action Teams do?

Our Policy Coordinators will tell you exactly what to do and when to do it to impact the issues. Plus, we will provide you with the information and resources you will need to make your actions most successful. Actions may include: contacting your officials; attending public hearings, press conferences and rallies; writing letters to the editor; meeting with your legislator; and lobbying at the State Capitol.

During the 45-day State Legislative Session (Jan-March), our Action Team members play a key role in impacting policy -- whether you take action from home, work or in person at the Capitol. No experience necessary!
