Join Savera: United Against Supremacy

Savera means "new dawn" across Indian languages, and we are inviting you to join us as an Indian American community in building this new dawn in the U.S.: a more prosperous, more just, and more peaceful future for all.
As Indian Americans, we have much to be grateful for. We are indebted to the powerful gains made by antiracist groups and the Civil Rights movement, which have allowed Indian Americans to participate more fully in American society. In the last few decades, the Indian American community has become one of the most influential immigrant communities. We are also the inheritors of proud legacies of anticaste and justice movements in the subcontinent, including the powerful independence movement that ended the scourge of colonial rule. Last but not least, we have as our strength our breathtaking diversity: of faiths (or no faith), heritages, languages, cuisines, and cultures.
At the same time, we are aware that authoritarianism and supremacy are on the rise around the world. The U.S. is itself facing many intersecting challenges, with sexist, racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, and casteist discourses gaining currency across the country. Even within our own Indian American communities, injustices, bigotry, and divisions persist.
As Indian Americans living in the U.S., this is the time for us to unite toward building this Savera, this new dawn. Join the movement!
Please add your name to the form on the right to participate. Savera will host online and offline gatherings, lend an Indian American voice to progressive causes, and work to unite our communities against supremacy.
Let's show America what Indian Americans really stand for!
