Log your call for Automatic Voter Registration in Massachusetts

Call Governor Baker and tell him to sign AVR into law!

With one simple policy change, we could make the electoral process here in Massachusetts more inclusive, accurate, and secure. It’s bipartisan, it’s successful—it’s Automatic Voter Registration (AVR).

AVR flips voter registration from an opt-in system to an opt-out one, automatically adding eligible voters to the rolls upon visits to state agencies like the RMV. We've already seen the huge difference such a simple change can make. In Oregon, AVR registered over 200,000 new voters in just 6 months, and around half of them voted in the 2016 election.

Automatic Voter Registration has already passed the House and Senare with bipartisan support, but we need help from activists like you to bring this needed reform to Massachusetts.

Call Governor Baker at (617) 725-4005 and tell him: “My name is [YOUR NAME], and I'm a resident of [YOUR TOWN]. Please make Massachusetts elections more efficient, accurate, and secure by signing Automatic Voter Registration into law."

You can tell him...
  • AVR was approved by bipartisan votes in the House and the Senate. The Senate vote was unanimous.
  • 700,000 eligible Massachusetts citizens are not registered to vote—AVR will help give them a voice in our democracy.
  • AVR will help protect the fundamental right of every American to have their vote counted on Election Day.
  • AVR will improve the accuracy and security of our voter rolls.
  • AVR will eliminate much of the human error that comes with paper forms, more frequently update records when people move, and eliminate duplicate records.
  • The bill passed the House with bipartisan support.
  • AVR could save Massachusetts money in the long run.
