First succes on dangerous crossings, Paris Street roundabout

Paris St Roundabout Crossings - first success!

Following 7 months of campaigning work  Green Councillors Andy Ketchin & Carol Bennett have secured a first step towards positive change. When the campaign for safer crossings around Paris Street roundabout was launched in January this year, both Exeter City and Devon County Councils said that there was no safety issue.

But after months of pressure and collecting your stories about using the roundabout and your calls for action, Devon County Council have changed their position. A July meeting of the Exeter Highways and Transport Committee asked for a report on the crossings to be brought to their next meeting 10.30am, October 30th, County Hall.

The campaign goes on

Exeter Greens will continue to press for relevant information to be shared, and that the October report takes an in-depth and longer term view of the current problems. We will also continue to press Exeter City Council to admit that the roundabout is dangerous and play their part in finding solutions.

More calls for action needed

The more people who add their names to our call for action, the greater evidence Andy and Carol have to back the case for improvements. Why not share the 'call for action' link with friends, neighbours or others you know, who regularly use the roundabout crossings?
