Dr. Lisa Cook made history as the first Black woman nominated to serve at the Federal Reserve.

Dr. Cook is a great choice: a leader in her field as a professor of economics at Michigan State University and an experienced macro-economist who has served as an advisor to 3 previous presidents. Her nomination to be a Federal Reserve Governor has been praised by legislators, unions, bankers, housing and consumer organizations and bipartisan economists.

Yet Republican senators are calling her a radical activist who will politicize the Fed and -- disgustingly -- “fundamentally not qualified.”
