We have a mission to empower a strong social movement to win better mental health policy. This is especially important in a time when health plans continue to violate the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, a federal law which prohibits health insurance companies from unfair coverage of mental health and substance use conditions.

Millions of Americans could have better mental health care if parity were properly enforced. It ultimately requires insurers to provide the same level of benefits for mental and substance use treatment as they do for other medical care.
