March with CSEA Region 3 at the 2022 NYC Labor Day Parade!
You are invited to join us to march with our CSEA family from New York City and Long Island in the 2022 New York City Labor Day Parade on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022.
We will meet up beginning at 10:30 a.m. at East 46th Street between 5th Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue. Light refreshments and t-shirts will be available. We will kick off at 12 p.m., marching up 5th Avenue to 64th Street.
The theme of this year's parade is "Workers Leading, Workers Rising." This is our first parade since the pandemic began, so let's have a great showing from CSEA!
Southern Region CSEA members are encouraged to use Metro-North Railroad or other mass transit to get to New York City. Due to staffing shortages, we were unable to secure a charter bus this year, but the Region will reimburse the cost of off-peak, round trip Metro-North tickets for members marching in the parade (you must be an active member or retiree local member in CSEA to be eligible for reimbursement, and your attendance must be confirmed on-site at the parade).
For those interested, we will also have two meet-up sites at Metro-North stations where region officers will be on hand to provide off-peak tickets (in lieu of reimbursement). Keep in mind, however, that you must participate in the parade and you MUST RSVP ahead of time if you plan on meeting at these Metro-North locations. You can depart the city on your own at a time of your choosing. Those meet-up locations are:
* Poughkeepsie Metro-North Station (41 Main Street), 8:29 train to Grand Central Station, meet up at 8 a.m. to receive your ticket.
* Croton-Harmon Metro-North Station (1 Croton Point Avenue), 9:13 a.m. train to Grand Central Station, meet up at 8:45 a.m. to receive your ticket.
We ask that all members planning to attend RSVP using this form, especially if you plan to meet up ahead of time at either the Poughkeepsie or Croton-Harmon train stations. Questions may be sent via email to csearegion3@cseainc.org.
