I hereby apply for membership in IFPTE Local 70, the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, AFl-CIO & CLC, and voluntarily designate it as my representative for collective bargaining, including processing grievances with my employer. If admitted to membership, I agree to abide by the IFPTE Constitution and the Local Constitution and by-laws. I also realize that this form is notice of my right to be or remain a nonmember fee payer. I have the following rights: (1) to object to paying, and to receive a reduction in fees for union activities not germane to the union's duties as bargaining agent; (2) to be given sufficient information to enable me to intelligently decide whether to challenge the fee reduction calculation; and (3) to be appraised of any internal union procedures for filing objections and challenges. I authorize my employer to deduct from my wages every month an amount equal to the monthly dues, initiation fees, re-initiation fees, transfer fees and uniform assessments, and direct that such amounts so deducted be forwarded monthly to IFPTE Local 70. This authorization is voluntarily given and is not conditioned on my present or future membership in the union.
