Named Sponsorship Summit

In winter 2025, the government announced that Named Community Sponsorship will be a primary route to refugee resettlement.


For the first time, communities will be able to identify and name who they wish to welcome to the UK - people they already know, care about, or feel connected to. This opens up powerful new possibilities: a school welcoming a pupil’s family; a church sponsoring persecuted Christians; a community group supporting LGBTQ+ individuals at risk; a sports club sponsoring displaced athletes; or a veteran sponsoring someone they served alongside.

With government commitment in place, civil society is now working alongside the Home Office to co-design the scheme, with hopes for launch later this year.

This is a pivotal moment: strong, visible support from across civil society will be essential to making this a reality.
