#SinDACASinMiedo: UndocuYouth Gathering

Five years ago, we won DACA by taking direct action— we marched, we organized, we came out of the shadows. Since then, DACA has provided temporary protection for hundreds of thousands of undocumented youth. It was a major victory for the immigrant rights movement— a victory that has been taken from us.

But we know that this fight isn't just for us-- this is a fight to win permanent protection, dignity, and respect for all 11 million undocumented immigrants. It’s a fight to get recognition for the economic power that immigrants have and that this country depends on. Just like our parents, our biggest power comes from being workers. We are not just “DREAMers,” we are workers who contribute billions of dollars into the economy. We are a workforce that is 11 million strong, and without us, this country cannot function.

That's why we are calling on undocumented youth from all over the country to gather in New York City on October 6th-8th. It will be a full weekend of building trust, community, and power within the undocumented community as we map out how we are going to fight the attacks on us, our parents, and our community.

Together, we will choose the direction of the immigrant rights movement to include all 11 million immigrants who need permanent protection. The 11 million that includes us, our parents, our families. Now is our time to fight, together.

This is a space for undocumented immigrants and DACA folks only-- we believe that undocumented people should lead the strategic direction of the movement and we believe that, now more than ever, this is the much needed space to heal together and organize together.
