Pledge to Mask Up

Kristin Urquiza's dad Mark contracted Covid after Governor Ducey prematurely reopened and urged constituents to resume normal activities during the May 2020 Covid surge.

It's become clear that even vaccinated people are at risk for catching the virus, spreading it to others (especially higher-risk individuals like children or people who are immuno-compromised), developing long covid, or even--in rare cases--severe illness or death. The problem will escalate further if we allow the virus to continue to spread and mutate, potentially decreasing the effectiveness of the vaccine even more.

The CDC has recommended universal masking. But despite the crisis, governors and other leaders across the country are choosing, once again, to needlessly preempt even local Covid safety measures, regardless of community want or need.

By pledging to #MaskUp indoors, you're joining a movement of people who have decided enough is enough; it is our responsibility as a community and as a nation to take simple-common sense measures to stem the tide that is threatening to engulf us all.
