Essentia, a health care giant with facilities across the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, has announced that they plan to permanently eliminate 900 jobs -- many of which are members of USW Local 9460.  

This announcement came despite the fact that the COVID-19 surge has yet reached the Northland and Essentia has accepted millions of dollars of public money.

So far, these health care workers have shown unmatched dedication to the communities they serve, ensuring that patients receive top-quality care in dangerous, uncertain conditions.

No one can know exactly what will come next as we fight this deadly disease, but even under the best circumstances, our communities will continue to need committed health care professionals.
