Rally against racism and for immigrant justice on September 15

ONA members are joining the Migrant Rights Network to say no to racism and demand permanent resident status for all migrants and equal rights for all. Join us on September 15 at 1 p.m. at City Hall in Toronto to take action!

Migrants deserve equal rights. They are part of our communities – they are our coworkers, neighbours, friends, and family. We know they aren’t to blame for the affordability crisis.

With life becoming more unaffordable, from skyrocketing rents, to stagnating wages, and rising grocery costs, politicians and corporations want to distract us as they cut and erode public services and support corporate profit-making.

Instead of placing the blame on government policy and corporate greed, they want us to think immigrants are the problem. We see it online, in our workplaces, and recent polls show that anti-immigrant sentiment is at historic levels. Immigrants are being used as a scapegoat. That’s why we need to show up and push back against this hate.

As politicians and corporations try to divide us and blame migrants, it’s important to show up in solidarity with migrants and stand up against the rise of racism and hate.

Let’s show up in solidarity and fight back against scapegoating and distraction. Together, let’s demand regularization and status for all.

Toronto Rally: Join the ONA contingent! Meet us by 1 p.m. at the “Toronto” sign in front of City Hall (south side, across from the Sheraton, 123 Queen St. W.) - look for ONA flags!
