The city of Los Angeles needs strong enforcement of its home-sharing ordinance to protect affordable housing in our neighborhoods. Study after study has come out showing short-term rental companies take housing off the market and drive up rental prices.

Unfortunately, the City has been unable or unwilling to enforce its Home-Sharing Ordinance, allowing thousands of speculators to violate the law and turn our affordable housing into rooms for tourists.

With the Olympics just a few years away, the City can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to this issue. That's why we're fighting back, and working to take down illegal STRs. Help us by reporting illegal STRs in your neighborhood, and joining the movement to protect affordable housing!

Better Neighbors LA is a coalition of Southern California hosts, tenants, housing activists, hotel workers, and community members. We believe the best way to support true sharing for hosts and guests is also the best way to protect jobs and the community: by curbing illegal commercial activity in the short-term rental industry.
