Seeding Food Sovereignty Campaign Committee Interest Form

Seeding Food Sovereignty Campaign Committee Interest Form

We are seeking members interested in being a part of the campaign organizing committee for DSA San Diego's Seeding Food Sovereignty in San Diego Campaign! At a high level, our campaign involves:

  • Part 1 (January - July): Rebuild the San Diego Peace Garden and develop a handbook for starting a new community garden. Host political education events after each garden build day.
  • Part 2 (August - December): Identify one school in the greater San Diego Public School system to stand-up a new farm in. Develop a plan to start the build by Spring 2026.

There are several teams that will be forming:

  • Garden Volunteer Coordinators - Help organize the garden volunteers, make sure those who need it have a carpool, plug new volunteers into the organizing work
  • Documenters - Document what we learn at the garden and help create the community garden handbook
  • Social media team - Create content for social media and our website to promote the effort and advertise upcoming workdays
  • Lunch and learn team - Develop a political education curriculum for the Lunch and Learn at the end of each work day, coordinate with guest educators, and conduct the sessions
  • Research and policy team - Start looking ahead to phase 2, identifying potential schools, rules and regulations that may help or get in the way, and any policy changes that could be pursued

Help us organize with our community to build the food system we all deserve!
