Show us Your Stops Susan: Publish Your Campaign Schedule

Some of Maine is not ALL of Maine.

Monday Susan Collins announced a 16-county campaign tour saying, “I can’t wait to see thousands of Mainers in each of Maine’s 16 counties and hear more directly from them about the issues they care about.”

We’ve looked high and we’ve looked low but we cannot find a single public notice of her events.

Not on Facebook.

Not on Twitter.

Not on Instagram.

Not on her campaign website.

Not even in the fundraising email for the tour we just received in our mailbox. The one where she wrote: "It's an entirely different thing to meet with Susan face to face and connect on a deeper level," before asking for a donation.

But you see, we’ve been looking to meet Susan face to face for years. Now she says she wants to meet us, but won’t tell us when or where! A leader doesn’t hide from constituents. A leader is accessible and rises to meet and listen to a broad array of opinions and interests. But let’s be real -- Susan Collins is not that kind of leader. Instead, she has well-orchestrated campaign stops with select invitees, not with regular Mainers like you & me.

If Susan Collins really means she wants to ‘hear directly’ from Mainers then we expect her schedule to be posted on her website and social media accounts, and we expect all Mainers to be invited. She works for us and is vying for our vote. Shouldn’t she at least tell us how to “meet Susan face to face?” Mainers have a lot we’d like to discuss with her ….
