On April 19, Target boldly took a stand against recent Republican laws that specifically discriminate against the transgender community.

The retail chain issued a public statement welcoming everyone to “use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

But the right-wing backlash has been brutal. One ultra-conservative organization immediately started a petition that now has over 700,000 people pledging to boycott Target.
