SIGN NOW: Stand with Rep. Barbara Lee and repeal the 2001 and 2002 Authorizations of Military Force!

In 2001, Rep. Barbara Lee was the only Congressional vote against the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that launched our two-decade military misadventure in Afghanistan and the branches of the Forever War in Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Syria and Libya.

Barbara Lee was right―and now everyone knows it. The war in Afghanistan had no end goal beyond occupation. But the AUMF she opposed 20 years ago is still on the books, giving a green light for American presidents to continue expanding wars into new corners of the globe.

SIGN NOW: Congress must repeal the AUMFs of 2001 and 2002 to truly end the Forever Wars!

Rep. Lee has introduced legislation to repeal the AUMFs repeatedly since the invasions began―and the House of Representatives passed one of them this year! If the Senate acts in kind, it would be the first time Congress has revoked a war authorization since Vietnam.

Repealing the AUMFs would send a signal that we are truly done with the false frame of a Global War on Terror. Endless occupations and empire-building is not in our nation’s interests.
