Sign On to Demand Defunding the Chicago Police Department!

Every day, over $4.5 million of the City’s budget is spent on policing. That’s $1.8 billion every year that we give to CPD. To compare, here’s what we spend on community resources in Chicago:

  • Drug Treatment = $9 million per year
  • Mental Health Services = $21 million per year
  • Homeless Services = $49 million per year

Join us in the campaign to #DefundCPD

We are grassroots effort to demand that City Council take resources and power away from the Chicago Police Department- a racist, violent institution that has too much power over our communities- and reinvest in community resources like quality, well-funded public schools, mental health centers, housing, and other social services and community institutions. By signing below, I offer my support to the following demand:

“This City budget season, I demand Chicago City Council defund CPD by 75% and reinvest those funds into social services and community programs such as housing, community counseling, healthcare, jobs, schools, and addiction and recovery services.”

#DefundCPD and Invest in Black Communities!
