Sign-on to help plan the 2016 OCOF Student Leadership Institute!!

Every time positive social change happens in American history, students and young people are leading the way.

In that spirit, we are proud to be teaming up with high school students, college students, young workers, young entrepreneurs, youth development organizations, and allies to plan our first ever student-led Summer Institute.

Please complete the form at the right if you would like to join the planning team or have your organization participate.  Your responses will help us choose the ideal date and make sure the content fits your needs.

Some of the reasons why we are organizing this Summer Institute include...

So that…Young people want to stay in West Virginia because they see a place and role for
themselves here, and that at least 100 attendees have made a genuine connection to an adult leader in WV in their field.
So that…Young people are equipped, connected, and emboldened to take risks and change the future of our state and our country – and have had the experience of organizing their own conference.
So that…the voter turnout among young people is growing and we have a more diverse pool of candidates running for office.
So that… we have students from at least 25 campuses across the state ready to serve as Our Children, Our Future chapters for the 2016-2017, making sure that they have the financial and technical resources they need to do their work.  (Note: the Institute is open to groups that are not student chapters, as well!)
So that… we can host a student policy competition (and select one winning policy to present to Gubernatorial candidates at the Institute), as well as a Young West Virginians of the Year award ceremony to recognize young leaders who are committed to giving back to our state.
So that… students have the opportunity to train and hold workshops for each other -- sharing their knowledge and trading ideas.
For more information, please fill out the form to the right, and we will follow-up with you about how you can be involved!!
