Jacob Blake was shot in the back 7 times by Kenosha, Wisconsin police officers on August 23, 2020. Officers were on the scene due to a fight, which Jacob Blake was trying to break up. Blake, who was unarmed when he was shot in front of his three young children, is now paralyzed from the waist down.

Jacob Blake, like George Floyd, Dreasjon Reed, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Rayshard Brooks, and countless other Black people who have been shot, injured, or murdered at the hands of the police have exposed what we have known for too long: The police in this country are entrenched in systemic violence and racism.

Thousands of Black Lives Matter protesters continue to demonstrate in a demand for justice in Wisconsin and across the country. One of their rallying cries -- Charge the cops who shot Jacob Blake.

The cops who shot Jacob Blake must be immediately investigated and charged with this shooting. There was no brandished weapon, nor any threats made towards the police. There was only an unjustified, racist response to a Black man at the hands of these police officers.

The cops are currently on administrative leave, which is another way to say a paid vacation.

We CANNOT let yet another unacceptable case of police brutality go unanswered. Jacob Blake needs our help fighting for justice. We must demand that the cops who shot Jacob are immediately arrested and charged with his attempted murder.
