Sign the petition: Denounce Senator Tom Cotton for sending cease and desist letters to constituents

This week, news broke that Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton sent letters to some local community activists demanding they immediately cease and desist ALL communications with the Senator’s office.

Apparently, Senator Cotton cannot handle his constituents exercising their First Amendment rights. The activists who were sent this letter were calling Cotton’s office to express “grave concerns” about the Senator’s support of the Trump administration’s agenda.

If the people who received the letter don’t comply, Senator Cotton’s office will report them to the U.S. Capitol Police.

It is outrageous that a U.S. Senator is sending cease and desist letters to his constituents. No elected official should try to silence their constituents—and threaten police action when those constituents try to speak up again.
