Sign the pledge: Fight the Department of Homeland Security's War on Voting

Donald Trump announced on January 3rd that he had dissolved the Voter Suppression commission that had made outrageous demands on basic voter privacy issues.

In his executive order, Trump complained that many states had "refused to provide" the commission with "basic information relevant to its inquiry."

Much of the activism against the commission had focused on pressuring states to not cooperate. So Trump just admitted that our activism was the reason he caved.

We may have won the battle, but the War on Voting goes on. Trump has already asked the Department of Homeland Security to take over where the commission had left off.

Homeland Security has no expertise on elections, but they are already terrorizing immigrants and people of color. Giving them the mandate of voter suppression (which adversely affects these communities) is a dangerous combination.
