Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke—a long-time Trump supporter—has resigned.

The Sheriff has an appalling record, attacking Black Lives Matter protesters, condoning deadly jailing practices, using police to harass students and trying to obstruct justice by intimidating officials who dare report publicly on the conditions of county jails.

We don't know yet why he resigned, but he has long been rumored to want a position in the Trump administration—besides cheerleader. We seriously hope not.
