Sign Up: Interest in JCIJ Accompaniment Committee Activities

Accompaniment is the act of being a supportive presence, leveraging our familiarity with language, procedures, systems in solidarity with a community member as they navigate the complex and often intimidating immigration system while addressing their needs regarding immigration status and related issues.

Accompaniment can take many different forms and meanings. It can deal with specifics such as attending court hearings, filling out required forms, securing legal representation for their cases and more. But always, it is grounded in principles and values of humility, respect for the agency and control of the community member. Volunteer opportunities arise in support of our immigrant justice partners in which we engage always in support of the accompaniment goals and priorities of JCIJ-NW and the Accompaniment Committee.
