Through research, engagement in policy debate and coalition building Publish What You Pay Australia works to overcome undue influence of mining, oil and gas companies in public policy. We work on improving access to information and mechanisms for communities to hold industry and governments to account. Underpinning our work is the understanding that an active civil society and the use of evidence are critical tools to make change.

We advocate for access to information, community rights, participation in decision making and the right to say no, to protect heritage, improve social outcomes, minimise environmental impacts and to improve transparency and accountability to prevent profit shifting, tax avoidance and corruption.
