You often hear that privacy is dead, and that we can't do anything to prevent government surveillance. Our volunteers have helped Boston ban secret police surveillance and put an end to an abusive part of the PATRIOT Act that had been used as legal cover for mass surveillance of Americans. We really can work together to stop the surveillance state, and we do work together to rein in facial recognition, fusion centers, civil asset forfeitures and more.
