Tell Your Representatives: Stop Workplace Violence

I knew going in that working in a mental health facility could be dangerous. But I’m a nurse, and we care for the people who need us. Still, nothing could prepare me for the day a patient attacked me, putting me in the hospital with severe injuries. Eight months later, I’m still recovering.

Congress is considering a law that would protect health care workers from workplace violence by requiring strict standards to prevent attacks like the one I suffered.

Your member of Congress needs to hear from you. Tell your representative to support the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act  (H.R.1309).

Supporting this bill is the best way you can keep workplaces safe. I know I can count on my AFSCME sisters and brothers to stand with me!

In solidarity,
Tina
