DREAMers -- young immigrants who were brought to the US as children -- continue to face uncertainty months after President Trump set in motion a process that stripped beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program of their protections.

Since Trump’s callous decision to end DACA, over 15,000 individuals have lost their status and face deportation. 122 more join their ranks each day that goes by. Our legislators have failed to defend these young people. As a result, many families, businesses and American institutions are facing economic, emotional and general hardships.

These are friends and neighbors who have called America their home for as long as they remember and don't deserve to be stripped of their legal status. DREAMers are students, teachers, doctors, and small-business professionals who are integral to our communities.

Thankfully, many elected officials in Pennsylvania have expressed their support for legislation that protects DACA recipients from deportation. Passing a clean Dream Act is the most responsible way to achieve that goal. But time is running out!

If swift action is not taken by January 19th, the number of DREAMers losing their status each day will skyrocket by 900%. That means that up to 1,200 individuals, families and businesses will face potential devastation every single day.
