We, the undersigned, issue this letter to Representative David Cannon, chairman of the House Revenue and Taxation committee.

We urge you to reverse your decision to deny Idaho citizens the opportunity to testify remotely on proposed legislation.

We understand that you are reluctant to change course considering that your predecessor did not allow remote testimony. We do not accept this rationale. The fact that your predecessor silenced Idaho voices does not justify your decision to continue his policy.  

All Idaho citizens—not just those in the Boise area—deserve a voice in the legislative process.

We respectfully demand that you allow remote testimony on House Bill 447 and on all future bills that appear before the Revenue and Taxation committee.
