Tell Congress: Stop Trump From Blocking Home Energy Assistance

The Trump administration just took aim at one of the most essential safety net programs in America: LIHEAP, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
LIHEAP helps millions of low-income families afford heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer — basic necessities for survival in extreme weather. But now, in a deeply alarming move, the Department of Health and Human Services has fired the entire federal staff responsible for running the program.
Without proper administration, LIHEAP will be slower, less effective, and less accessible to the families who depend on it. And those families include seniors, people with disabilities, and children — many of whom live in communities already facing extreme heat, cold, or energy insecurity.
As the climate crisis intensifies and energy costs remain high, gutting LIHEAP is cruel and irresponsible. Congress must step in now to protect this life-saving program and demand answers from the Trump administration about these reckless staffing decisions.
Add your name to demand that Congress protect LIHEAP, restore its staffing, and ensure vulnerable families get the energy assistance they need to stay safe and healthy.
