Democrats just won a numerical majority in New York's State Senate. But there are indications that some Senators just elected as Democrats are considering caucusing with the Republicans.

With millions of New Yorkers facing imminent threats, handing power over to a minority of Trump Republicans would be unconscionable. Gov. Cuomo must use the full powers at his disposal to unite Senate Democrats so New York can offer a clear progressive alternative. For years, Gov. Cuomo has failed to vigorously support efforts for a Democratic majority in New York's State Senate. That needs to change.
