Tell Ohio Senate Leadership: Advance Senate Bill 191

Senate Bill 191 is common sense legislation to make our absentee voting process more efficient for voters and election officials, by allowing voters to request an absentee ballot online.

The bill has had three hearings but is currently stalled in the Senate Government Oversight and Reform Committee.

Strengthening and streamlining Ohio's vote-by-mail system is of the utmost importance as we head into an election this fall with the possibility of a recurrence of COVID hanging over our heads.

Maximizing the number of Ohioans who vote-by-mail will go a long way to minimizing long-lines and crowding at the polls on November 3rd.

Both the Secretary of State and the Ohio Association of Election Officials strongly support SB191. Secretary LaRose says an online application system can be up and running in three months. We need to push Senate leadership to act now so this bill comes up for a vote in committee and then is passed before summer recess.

Contact Ohio Senate Leadership today, and ask them to advance SB 191.

Step 1: Call Senate President Larry Obhof at (614) 466-7505. Ask him to advance Senate Bill 191 so voting will be safe and secure in November for voters and poll workers alike.

Step 2: Call Senator Matt Huffman, Ohio Senate Majority Leader, at (614) 466-7584. Tell him it's important to advance Senate Bill 191 now so we can have the online ballot application up and running before it's too late.
