Tell Sec. Buttigeig: Release a full economic justice and racial equity plan for Public Transit spending now!

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced a $1 billion commitment to remedy racial inequities in U.S. highway design, such as roads that were built to separate predominantly Black and brown neighborhoods from white ones. In some cases they may even tear down or rebuild highways and overpasses.

This is great news. A critical start, but it’s not anywhere good enough.

With nearly $1 trillion to spend in transit funding as part of the bipartisan infrastructure deal, Sec. Buttigieg must commit himself to using those funds equitably.

Demand Sec. Buttigeig release an economic justice and racial equity plan for full implementation of the nearly $1 trillion in public transit money now.
