A lawyer who visited him observed significant weight loss and conditions consistent with severe restrictions on food, medical care, and basic hygiene. His case reflects Israel's systematic targeting of Palestinian healthcare workers—hundreds of whom have been arbitrarily detained during the ongoing assault on Gaza.
