Hemos marchado. Hemos ido a Washington DC. Hemos votado.

Hemos hecho todo lo que nos dijeron que teníamos que hacer para ganar la reforma migratoria. Y aun asi, nuestra comunidad ha sido fallada por instituciones y políticos que han prometido estar con nosotros pero en vez dejaron a nuestras comunidad atras.

Ahora tenemos un Presidente que ha prometido ir en contra de la comunidad inmigrante. Primero el #Muslim Ban, luego la pared, luego sera el futuro en este pais. No parara. Y no vamos a esperar al próximo ataque para reaccionar. Ya no mas.

ICE. Ya no mas. Separación de familia. Ya no mas. La explotación de nuestro trabajo. Ya no mas!

Ya es suficiente. Ya no podemos continuar viviendo así - sin dignidad, respeto, y el reconocimiento que nuestro labor sostiene a este país.

Nuestra comunidad ya esta lista. Hemos estados listos. Después de 20 años, ha llegado Un Dia Sin Inmigrantes.

Un Dia Sin Inmigrantes va a demostrarle a este país que necesitamos reconocimiento.

Un dia es solo el comienzo de la temporada de huelgas y boicots. Sabemos que haciendo huelga por un día, extenderemos nuestro poder. Y mientras más días hagamos la huelga, nos sentiremos más poderosos. Los que están en poder se van a sentir más desesperados. El país va a querer que las cosas regresen a la normalidad. Y nos querrán dar protección permanente.

Empezaremos con un dia. Terminaremos con siete. Terminaremos con protección permanente, dignidad, y respeto.

Un Dia Sin Inmigrantes viene el Primero de Mayo. No vamos a ir a trabajar, no vamos a comprar, y nos vamos a unir para demostrar que nos vamos a apoyar de uno al otro.

We've marched. We've lobbied. We've voted.

We've done everything we were told to do to win immigration reform. And yet, our community has been failed by institutions and politicians who have promised to stand with us but instead left our community behind.

Now, we have a president who has promised to come after the immigrant community. First the #MuslimBan, then the wall, next is our future in this country. He won't stop. And we will not wait until the next attack to react. Ya no más.

ICE. Ya no más. Family separation. Ya no más. The exploitation of our work. Ya no más!

Enough is enough. We cant live this way anymore-- without dignity, respect, and recognition that our labor sustains this country.

Our community is ready. We've been ready. After 20 years, A Day Without An Immigrant is finally coming.

A Day Without An Immigrant is about showing this country that we need to be recognized.

One day is just the beginning of a season of strikes and boycotts. We know that each time we strike for a day, we will build power. And the more days we strike, the stronger we will feel. The more desperate those in power become. The more people will want everything to return to normal. The more they want to give us permanent protection.

We start with one day. We end with seven days. We end with permanent protection, dignity, and respect.

A Day Without An Immigrant is coming on May 1st. We are not going to go to work, we are not going to buy, and we are going to get together to show each other that we have our back.
