Vote for Green New Deal Champion Bernie Sanders on March 17th
The primary on March 17 is the last chance for Illinois to nominate Green New Deal champions up and down the ballot. If we want any shot at a livable future, we need to organize millions of people to pledge to vote for a President and Congress who will stand up to fossil fuel billionaires.
The Sunrise Movement is a movement of young people fighting to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. Our movement endorsed Bernie Sanders for President, Robert Emmons Jr. for Congress IL-01, Marie Newman for Congress IL-03, Rachel Ventura for IL-11 and Robert Peters for State Senate IL-13 because of their commitment to a Green New Deal and their refusal to take corporate donations from fossil fuel executives and PACs. Sunrise Movement Chicago wants to use our power as young people to shift the narrative of the primary race in Illinois! This is how we do it. Our goal is to get thousands of young people in Chicago to pledge to vote for our Green New Deal champions before March 17. Fighting for a Green New Deal is about fighting for our communities—our families, our neighbors, our classmates, our coworkers, and people we may never meet. This movement is strong because we come together from all walks of life to demand the future we know we deserve.
That is why we’re asking every young person in Chicago to sign this pledge to vote and send this link to five people in their life to turn out the vote for our Green New Deal candidates in the largest youth electoral intervention in decades.
