We Must Preserve DACA!

A federal judge in Texas just ruled that The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, a beacon of hope for hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, has been declared unlawful. This is not just an attack on a policy, but on the very lives and dreams of those who know no other home but America.

The DACA program, created in 2012, was designed to protect these "Dreamers," providing them with the opportunity to live, work, and contribute to the country they love. As of March, 2023, 578,680 immigrants were enrolled in DACA, their futures hanging in the balance.

Last year, the Biden administration took a commendable step to preserve and fortify DACA, releasing a rule to codify the policy into federal regulation. Yet, despite this action, Judge Andrew Hanen of the Southern District of Texas has ruled this move as a violation of the Administrative Procedure Act.

This ruling doesn't impact current Dreamers, but it does cast a dark shadow of uncertainty over the future of the program. It's a blow to our collective spirit, to our shared belief in the American Dream. But we refuse to be silenced.

We ask you now, how can we stand by and do nothing while the lives of so many are thrown into disarray? How can we allow political disputes to overshadow basic human compassion?

Our plea is simple: Protect our Dreamers. Preserve DACA.

Join us in this fight. It's time to put an end to the uncertainty and fear. It's time to uphold the values we hold dear as a nation.
