Every year Young Greens do fantastic work in the local area, in their regional groups and supporting national action. Building a commuity of engaged activist means that we want to recognise their hard work and celebrate it with them.

Any Young Green can nominate any Young Green, including themselves, or Young Green Group for an Award from the categories listed below! Nominations close on the 19th June 2022 at 5pm.

Award winners will be announced at Young Greens Convention on the 9th and 10th July 2022.

Award Categories

You do not need to have met all of the criteria listed to submit a nomination for an award.

Young Green Inspiring Activist Award

Do you know an inspiring Young Green activist who works tirelessly to support the cause? (Please provide a reason or your nomination will not be counted)

Criteria:

• The activist has evidence of continued work within either Young Greens group or local Green Party.
• The activist has worked with other Young Greens, and Greens, to encourage and engage people in green political and/or climate activism.

Young Greens Elections Award

Do you know a good campaigner, group or candidate who deserves recognition for their hard work during any elections between August 2021 to May 2022? (Please provide a reason or your nomination will not be counted)

• The activist(s) has worked with their local party on an electoral campaign and supported candidates running in an election.
• The activist(s) has made a significant contribution to an electoral campaign (via leafleting, canvassing, organising action days or other electoral campaign activities)
• The activist has been involved in electoral campaigning as a candidate.

Young Greens Event Award

Did you attend a great Young Greens event and want to shout about it? Or did you help organize a Young Greens event that you’re really proud of? (Please provide a reason or your nomination will not be counted)

• The event engaged a wide range of people, encouraging them to be more engaged with climate activism and/or green politics.
• The event addressed an issue that is core to Green Politics.

Young Greens Group Award

Know a cracking Young Greens group who are leading the way with their ideas? To be eligible for this award the Group must be affiliated to the Young Greens. (Please provide a reason or your nomination will not be counted)

• The group have run regular events throughout the year engaging members and non-members.
• The group has an engaging social media presence.
• The group have built links with their local party and/or other Young Greens Groups.

Campaigns Award

Making an impact in their local community or raising an issue nationally? We’re looking for a particularly good campaign that’s been run within the Young Greens for this award.

• The campaign has had an intersectional social and environmental justice focus on the issue.
• The campaign has either created change on the issue or helped to educated people on the campaign issue.

Special Recognition Award

Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond within the Young Greens? Tell us why you think they deserve special recognition for their involvement. There are no criteria for this award as nominations will be judged based on the contribtution to the Young Greens.
