Housing Rights Committee of San Francisco offers free drop-in and call-in counseling for tenants in rent-controlled units and public and Section 8 housing. It advocates for tenants, sponsors workshops and community meetings, and organizes entire buildings to fight against displacement and evictions. Since our formation in 1979, financial support from community members has been essential to our work as activists, organizers, community educators, and counselors for tenants in San Francisco.
Housing Rights went through a huge growth spurt in 2022 as our counseling and organizing teams took on the rising tide of pandemic rent debt issues, illegal evictions, landlord harassment, and Black displacement. This expansion was made possible in large part by donations from individuals. Your donation is tax-deductible. Your continued support vitally enables us to to keep innovating and expanding our tenant services and organizing power!
