The confirmation of climate denier Scott Pruitt to lead the EPA proves the dismal truth we already knew: under Trump’s fossil-fueled administration, the federal government is going to do little to nothing to defend Americans’ rights to clean air and water, healthy communities, and a stable climate.
Now that more than ever, it will be up to grassroots leaders at the local level to fight fossil fuel pipelines and power plants, build locally-owned renewable energy projects that put power back in the hands of the people, and take direct action to defend the rights and dignity of marginalized communities.
The Power Shift Network exists to invest in the young activists who are fighting for a power shift where it’s possible to move forward: in our communities.
From pipeline fighters in Minnesota and Florida to food justice leaders in California and cooperative ownership visionaries in Nebraska, this network is already resisting Trump and Pruitt’s destructive agenda and building the just, livable future we need.
