In 1921, a white racist mob directed by government officials destroyed Greenwood - a thriving black community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hundreds were murdered, thousands left homeless, and nearly $100M in property was burned to the ground. No one has ever been held accountable or paid damages.
A team of civil and human rights lawyers, led by Tulsa attorney Damario Solomon Simmons, has filed a lawsuit demanding the City and other defendants repair the damage they did to Greenwood in 1921.
