Intense rains have caused flooding in Detroit, Michigan. Mutual Aid Disaster Relief is partnering with local mutual aid groups to help with cleanup, deliver supplies, and meet other self-determined needs of people impacted.
Conflated with the Coronavirus pandemic, the upcoming clean up work will be an especially difficult challenge. Ensuring that people are provided with sanitation and cleaning supplies as well as proper PPE to protect them against both the hazards of clean up work as well as Coronavirus is essential.
Mutual Aid Disaster Relief is collecting funds to support the expenses of response work over the coming months. We’ll need money to buy sanitation supplies and materials to distribute to affected residents and for purchasing tools and protective gear that clean up crews and residents will need for gutting their houses, among other expenses.
