We are a group of land and water protectors, elders, and volunteers who strive to uphold the natural laws of the land by monitoring the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion on unceded Coast Salish Territories.
We are concerned about and arise out of the perceived need for immediate and ongoing action to draw attention to the fact that despite the BC Court of Appeal ruling, work is proceeding on pipeline expansion related projects on the mountain. We hope to increase our photo surveillance and social media presence.
We are fund raising for supplies and materials to support and expand the ongoing volunteer presence and surveillance at and around the Watch House located on Burnaby Mountain. Projects we are currently working on include:
- eyes on the ground - documentation and public awareness of the tank farm’s increased activities despite the quashing of permits
- gatherings to connect with the land and uphold our spiritual responsibilities
- connecting land protectors and building a long term movement
Your support for this collective effort is much appreciated.
The Watch House operates under the Coast Salish law of Nawt’samat - One Heart, One Mind, One Soul, we are all related.
