Josue’s legs were amputated following emergency surgery last year. He owes over $90,000 in medical bills. In a massive affordability crisis, he is unable to work because of his immigration status and his permanent disability. He cannot get any government support for prosthetics.
Donate now to support Josue’s recovery.
Josue came to Canada as a teenager to re-join his mother who was working in long-term care, taking care of elderly people during COVID-19. They both became undocumented. Josue was working in construction when he suddenly fell sick.
This was March 2023, just 5 days before the Ontario government cut health care coverage for undocumented migrants. Josue was admitted to Humber River Hospital and went into a coma for 12 days. He woke up to emergency surgery and eventually had his legs amputated.
Josue is asking for your support to help with expenses while he continues the fight to win permanent resident status for all and health care for everyone living in Ontario. Will you stand with him and thousands of other migrants and refugees?
