UAW workers in Green Island need our help!
Honeywell Aerospace locked out members of United Auto Workers Local 1508 in Green Island on May 9th, after they voted down a contract with devastating increases to their health care costs and elimination of their pensions and retirement health benefits.
Ever since, the workers have held a continuous picket outside the factory, demanding an end to the lockout and a fair contract. But Honeywell has refused to budge, hoping the financial and emotional toll of the lockout will make the workers cave.
Let's not let that happen! Please donate to the workers of UAW Local 1508.
These brave workers have gone almost 6 months without pay, and their unemployment benefits will run out in just a few weeks. They and their families are making huge sacrifices to stand up to a giant corporation - and the only way they can keep fighting is if the community steps up!
Please contribute what you can to help these workers survive the lockout and win!
The workers at Honeywell produce braking systems for commercial and military aircraft -- and huge profits for their employer. In the first quarter of 2016, Honeywell International, Inc. reported profits of $1.19 billion. CEO David Cote made $34.5 million in 2015. Nevertheless Honeywell continues its push to reduce wages and benefits and weaken the union.
Honeywell's actions are bad for workers, bad for families, and bad for our communities. Let's show Honeywell that we have the workers' backs and they won't get away with this behavior.
Give what you can and share widely!!
