Greetings! SubRosa is a collectively run anarchist community space in Santa Cruz, CA*. Since November 2008, SubRosa has provided a space for meetings, music, film showings, open mic, art, open hours drop-by, and so much more.
Very early during the pandemic we shut to public gatherings out of a concern for community well being. Although we have shifted how we can contribute to communities during this time, with most events happening in the courtyard, we’re still a community space. The garden courtyard is a great setting for various happenings, such as, monthly Really Really Free Markets // Free Skool classes // meetings // etc, so we need enough funds to keep the gates open!
It is part of our mission to create a space outside the realm of commerce. Your donations enable this community supported space to remain available. Please consider making an ongoing monthly donation (your monthly donations are helpful for us to be able to consistently budget our expenses, like rent). Of course, one time and other periodic donations are welcome as well.
Also, the Action Network, which hosts the fundraiser requests a "tip" and this can also be adjusted from the default of 10% to "no tip" or even more.
We are grateful for your support.

*SubRosa is part of the Hub Community Center, in downtown Santa Cruz, CA which is the ancestral territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe, land which was coercively taken from them by waves of colonizers. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
